How to stay sane during an exam
Tired of essays and endless assignments? We guess you should
be listening to us, for we are revealing secrets on successful semester without
cramming.
1.
Take a planner.
When you don’t put down your notes and don’t have the habit of writing, you get
an impression everything is falling out of your hands. To get a grip on your
life, use an exam planner that is going to help with an essay.
Whenever you want to memorize an idea or quote, it will come in handy, and
besides, it won’t cost you a fortune to buy.
2.
Choose a place.
If a student has a complex test ahead, the first cozy preparation spot that
occurs to them is the library. Do not hurry for the place, however, as
libraries are probably the most crowded learning centers these days. If
lounging in a café is not what you really wish, try a quiet floor instead of
the one where people are giggling and exchanging news. We personally cannot
imagine ourselves immersed in the books if our neighbors whisper in our ear all
the time!
3.
Think about sleep.
If you are not getting enough sleep, it will definitely show. First of all, you
will be forced to leave the classroom due to incessant yawning. Then, you will
spend more money on coffee than your usual weekly budget allows. Why load up on
caffeine when everything you have to do is set the alarm clock right? We think
it might get better after the exam session as well, when you are coming home
for Christmas.
4.
Have a break.
Working non-stop can lead to bad things such as being unable to concentrate the
day after, so even if you think that taking a break is the last thing you want
to do on this Earth, don’t hesitate. Stretch your body, take a walk around
campus, meet with friends. Organize an event at your local community club or
discuss a book – anything that can lift your spirits and allow you to distract
from the notes in your planner. Well, we don’t say you should throw a massive
party and forget about everything, but a little procrastination won’t hurt.
This way, your mind would be relaxed and ready for stress that’s called an exam
session before Christmas. You don’t want to perform like you can’t remember
anything, do you?
5.
Give yourself a reward.
It’s impossible to study with no days off. Tell your friends you are going to
the movie after all this hullabaloo is over and then make your day brighter by
simply sending a text or inviting your roommate for a cup of coffee. We all
know that the world does not end with a test and your teacher is not the only
person you should think of these days. Give yourself a little motivation and
see what’s coming in for you.
6.
Avoid Facebook for a while.
You want to check your mail, we know that, but for one day, it is recommended
to stay away from all social networks as they can actually increase the
frustration. If you are a part of the university group and your preparation
process can be called simultaneous, you will undeniably meet people who start a
panic attack by saying “I know nothing”, and then it goes viral. Maybe it is a
little bit impolite, but try to distance yourself from panic-mongers for a
while, because the exam session is in heat and you don’t want to lose time on
calming down people who don’t want to be calmed. Yes, as simple as that.
